3Mâ„¢ High Performance Double Coated Tape 9086 features a specialty-formulated acrylic adhesive that delivers very high initial tack and excellent peel and shear performance on a wide range of surfaces and materials. At 3.5 mils per side, the adhesive bonds to smooth, rough, or textured surfaces. A 0.5 mil tissue carrier is comformable and hand-tearable for efficient processing and use.Â
Thicker and stickier than traditional tapes, the 3M High Performance Double Coated Tape 9086 is suitable for a wide range of materials including paint, stainless steel, glass, foams, and a variety of plastics. The adhesive is applied at a thick 3.5 mils on each side of the carrier for good wet-out regardless of whether the surface is smooth, rough, or textured. The 0.5 mil tissue carrier conforms well to irregular surfaces and can be torn by hand for easy handling and application. This tape features a white 3.2 mil glassine paper liner which provides easy, efficient release during tape applications.Â
